The Fall semester became much busier than I intended when I decided to start on the journey to becoming a sister of Tau Beta Sigma. The Cheerwine and Design rush event tempted me with cupcakes and I ended up attending the rest of the events for the week, ending in the lovely dinner on Saturday that allowed me to get to know the other members and prospective members much better!
The eight weeks into Tau Beta Sigma proved to be a challenge. Not only did I have multiple tests to study for, but I had new friends to make as well. Getting to know my line sisters as individuals and getting to see their personalities come through along the way was definitely one of the most rewarding parts. Working together, we managed to pull together a service project and fundraiser project, and were much more successful than anticipated. Probate practices were a definite source of both challenge and bonding, as we relied heavily on one another for moral support and the positive result of the final product. Finally, the date of the probate arrived. I can’t say that I said everything perfectly (I accidentally called Mark sophisticated instead of selfless), but all went well by the end. The crowd was wonderfully supportive, filled with both TBΣ and KKΨ members that made the experience so much more enjoyable with their enthusiastic support! Now, officially being a sister in Tau Beta Sigma, I can look back on my journey and say with certainty that I am grateful to be where I am. -McKenna Gramzay |
