The Iota Lambda chapter of Tau Beta Sigma has been very busy this fall! Service in Music Month ended up being a huge success with our four projects. The first week we had our letter push after practice where many marching band students stopped by the table for some sweet tea and an opportunity to write a letter to Senator Burr about the importance of the arts in schools. For our next project, we travelled in the very early morning (because Service Never Sleeps) to Winston Salem to volunteer at the Band of America competition. We got to do everything from be ticket takers, to selling programs, to stamping hands, to running important things to the judges! It was so fun to be around the high school marching bands and stand out in the crisp autumn chill with my sisters. Our third project was helping set up for the Chapel Hill Philharmonia concert. Some of our sisters served as camera operators and others handed out programs, and all helped set up the chairs! There was a huge turn out for the concert and seeing all of the cute little kids excited about music definitely made my day! Our fourth project for October was donating and handing out water bottles to the high school marching band of South East Raleigh Magnet High School.
All in all the month was a huge success! Thank you to every sister of Tau Beta Sigma that dedicated their time and effort to helping complete the projects! We as a chapter are very excited to complete our projects for the rest of the semester and look forward to a fantastic year.
