On April 18th, we welcomed one more wonderful sisTAU into our chapter! We were all so happy and proud to introduce the Tau Line, “sInguLar enTAUty”, at the the Genome Breezeway at 6:46 pm. This has been the first one person line that IL has taken in since Fall 2013! The Tau Line received this name because she had the strength to undergo the journey into our Sisterhood all by herself. We are pleased to announce our newest sister as the following: Nadja Brown #1 “beauTAUfully Vita1”! Her big, Melanie, gave her this name because Nadja has a beautiful aura which draws people into her. Her laugh, smile, and inner qualities of perseverance and courage will cause her to make a lasting impact on our chapter! Our VPM, Leanne, did a wonderful job guiding her into the sisterhood (her outfit was also on point 👌😍). As a chapter, we are all very proud of Nadja for her hardwork and dedication as a one person line, she really does show Fortitude and courage to see an ideal, to seize upon it, and follow it wherever it may lead you in Tau Beta Sigma! We would like to thank our alumni sisters, sisters from other chapters, KKPsi, and everyone that was able to come out and support our newest sisTAU and Membership Committee!
On the 22nd, Nadja was able to attend her first chapter as an official sister of TBS. We held elections, and it lasted for 4 and ½ hours! It was long night, and lots of tough decisions were made, but we are proud to announce our newest officers: Ava Smith as Vice President of Membership, Kate Richardson as Treasurer, Samantha Howell as Corresponding Secretary, Mei Keely as Historian/Webmaster, Mei Keely as Social and Sisterhood Committee Chair, and Andre Pittella and Melanie Beam as Greek Music Council Representatives. Finally, on the 23rd our sisters traveled to Brookdale Senior Living Community as part of our CODA project! We got to meet some very sweet people and were able to teach them a little bit about what we do as members of the Marching Tar Heels. Our VPSP, Janelle, led us through playing school songs like “Here Comes Carolina” and “Tar Heels on Hand” and we also taught them how to spell out U-N-C with their arms! We finished off by interacting one-on-one with the community members and showing them our instruments, and we concluded by playing our Alma Mater “Hark the Sound”! We had a wonderful time and hope they had as much fun as we did! After we were done at Brookdale, we hurried back to Genome and got to see KKPsi’s New Member Presentation at 7:19. Congratulations to our 8 new bruhs! |
