The sisTAUs of Iota Lambda have been busy since our last blog post! This year we kicked off the first day of band camp with helping our new members move in and ended the day with new friendships and many memories. During camp, our lovely VPSP, Laney, organized some of our sisTAUs to help distribute water between marching basics and practicing pregame. Some of our sisTAUs also helped our bruhs from Psi with setting up breakfast during camp. After practice on Wednesday, Aug. 17th, we joined Psi for a joint step practice to impress everyone at the banquet on Saturday. It was a SUCCESS! The weekend after FDOC (first day of classes) the Marching Tar Heels had uniform distribution for its 291 members. After some of our sisTAUs prepped Friday afternoon (unwrapped the cleaned uniforms, stuffed shoes boxes with our signature Carolina blue laces, organized uniforms numerically, and set up the backpack, shield, and poncho stations) for the Saturday fitting, we were ready to help every single band member. Special thanks to Sarah for the coffee run that helped us be energized from 8:30 am to 2:45 pm! Members of Psi came to help us out and we had a lot of fun together - we especially enjoyed the mustaches Kenzie and Nora made. The next two weekends were game days (Saturday 9/2 UNC vs. Cal & Saturday 9/9 UNC vs. Louisville) and the band and color guard looked and sounded great! We have recently made a Snapchat account where different sisTAUs do game day takeovers and show us what their game days look like. Be sure to follow us @daillest-tbs As we adjust to the fall semester, expect to see social media updates every Tuesday about the different Tau Beta Tuesday events that Jada and our Social and Sisterhood committee host!
